The Mavericks will sign Jonathan Gibson after losing 3 guards to injury

The Dallas Mavericks will waive Quincy Acy and sign Jonathan Gibson after losing another guard to injury on Wednesday, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.

Gibson was the team’s final roster cut during the preseason, with the team keeping Acy and promising young forwards Nicolas Brussino and Dorian Finney-Smith. He scored more than 40 points per game in China last year, and then dominated Summer League for the Mavericks before just missing the final 15-man roster.

After J.J. Barea went down with injury on Wednesday that will likely keep him out a long time, the Mavericks had no choice but to cut Acy and add Gibson to the roster.
