This game was a tough one to watch, albeit for different reasons throughout. The first quarter was tough simply because neither team could score. The quarter featured a total of three defensive three in the key calls (2 on the Mavs, 1 on the Spurs), 0 made three point field goals from either team, and respective shooting percentages of 30% and 23% for Dallas and San Antonio. That’s the high-level view of the first quarter, but it was Dallas’ best quarter and did involve some interesting things and good plays. Kawhi had a transition up-and-down travel as he failed to get off a shot before landing on his feet; something that I’ve never seen before in the NBA.
