On the back of a monster performance by swingman Wesley Matthews, the Mavericks overcame a slow start and John Wall doing John Wall things to take a much needed victory on the first half of an east coast back-to-back.
The Wizards, forced to go small with essentially all of their bigs on the IR, forced Dallas into turning over the ball 11 times in the first half as they pestered Dirk with double teams and ran up 14 points in transition alone. It wasn’t until Wesley Matthews strategically timed offensive explosion in the 3rd quarter that Dallas was finally able to wear down the undersized Wizards and pull away for a comfortable win.
