The 24-year-old LSU product is the son of renowned musician Bruce Hornsby, a musician Rick Carlisle has experience performing with in impromptu fashion. Hornsby will now look to compete for a roster spot with several other undrafted rookies such as Nicolas Brussino, Jonathan Gibson, and Kyle Collinsworth.
Hornsby’s college career began at UNC-Asheville where he tried to make a name for himself in the Big South Conference. In his freshman season, Hornsby played in all 34 games, but averaged just 4 PPG. In his sophomore year however, he was significantly more impactful. Shooting 38% from beyond the arc while averaging 15 PPG, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, Hornsby started 29 games during an extremely productive season.
