CHARLOTTE – The Mavericks didn’t mess around on Saturday night.
Stinging from a bad loss the night before in Washington, they hit the floor without their stars and blasted the Charlotte Hornets.
Luka Doncic was back in Dallas – maybe missing his last game with a sprained right ankle – and Kristaps Porzingis was given a recovery day.
Didn’t matter. The Mavericks hammered the Hornets early, then rolled to a 116-100 victory at Spectrum Center.
The Mavericks were hoping to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. And when there were four minutes left in the first quarter, the Hornets still had only two points.
