Here are our next-day observations about the Mavericks' first win of the season, an 86-75 victory over Milwaukee on Sunday night in advance of a four-game road trip.

Overwhelming overtime: The Mavericks limited Milwaukee to 47 points in the final three quarters of regulation. It was a great show of defense. Then they did even better in the overtime. They had five turnovers, including their first three possessions of bonus time.
