David Lee will be signed by the Mavericks on Monday and guard John Jenkins is the likely player to be waived to clear a roster spot for the 6-8 Lee.
Their glut of guards can be blamed as Jenkins, who has appeared in only 21 games, will get caught in the numbers game.
The Mavericks have a lot of guards who deserve to play. With Devin Harris returning Sunday night after missing 10 games, it means starters Wesley Matthews and Deron Williams are joined in the backcourt mix by Raymond Felton, J.J. Barea and Harris, along with Justin Anderson, although he often swings to small forward.
