Roughly 13 hours after his locker room was cleared of reporters to make way for a team meeting following Wednesday's blowout home loss to Sacramento, Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle explained to reporters what transpired in that meeting.
Carlisle said it was actually a mixture of meeting and tape watching -- specifically, the tape of a third quarter in which Sacramento outscored Dallas, 29-12. The Mavericks' 31-point loss dropped them 4-17, so the fact that they held a postgame meeting naturally created a perception that they were circling the wagons.
"I just wanted to watch the third quarter with them right after the game," Carlisle said Thursday, after the Mavericks' workout in their new practice facility .
