Success stories are all over the NBA and not all of them are superstars making a bajillion dollars.
A.J. Lawson is a self-made success story.
When the second-year Maverick signed a multiyear contract on Sunday, it was another step in a career that is definitely not skipping any steps.
He’s taking it as it comes and the slow climb up the NBA ladder has been punctuated by not only a new contract, but a fresh, catchy intro by public-address announcer Sean Heath when he goes into games at American Airlines Center.
“I like when I come on the court and they say that,” Lawson said Monday.
