The National Basketball Referees Association has alleged that the NBA is allowing Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to gain a competitive advantage "via threats and intimidation," Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical (Yahoo Sports) reported Thursday.
A series of memorandums recently distributed among the league's 64 referees and obtained by The Vertical are largely centered on Cuban, describing a strife between the refs and league office, Wojnarowski reported.
According to Wojnarowski, NBRA general counsel Lee Seham outlined what the union considers to be a lengthy pattern of violations by Cuban of the NBA constitution and "undue influence of the league's management of its officials" in a letter to Byron Spruell, the NBA's president of league operations.
