Report: Mavericks agree to deal with a Famous center

Free agent center Jarrid Famous has reached agreement on a partially guaranteed one-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks, RealGM reported, citing anonymous league sources.

Famous played for Frisco’s Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ development league affiliate, last season averaging 18.1 points and 14.4 rebounds. In five summer league games with the Washington Wizards, the 6-foot-11 Famous averaged 10.2 points and 6.8 rebounds.

According to the Washington Post, Famous’s path in basketball is more exhaustive – three stops in five countries over four seasons – and not one game in the NBA

He went to a junior college for two years before playing two seasons at South Florida, went undrafted in 2011, began his professional career in Slovakia, then played for the D-League’s Iowa Energy, for the D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants, in the Philippines, in the Philippines for another club, in the Dominican Republic, for the D-League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders, back with the D-League’s Energy, back in the Dominican Republic for another team, in Lebanon, back with the D-League’s Energy, with the D-League’s Texas Legends, and for a third different team in the Philippines.
