The New York Police Department is investigating a 2018 rape claim against Dallas Mavericks forward/center and former New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis, according to a report from the New York Post.
According to the New York Post report, which cites anonymous law enforcement sources, the alleged incident occurred in a Midtown Manhattan penthouse on Feb. 7, 2018, just hours after Porzingis sustained a season-ending ACL tear vs. the Milwaukee Bucks at Madison Square Garden.
Per the report, the Mavericks have been made aware of the situation regarding Porzingis. After the initial New York Post report, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told The News by email, "We have been instructed by federal authorities not to comment.
