DALLAS — After finding himself limited early in training camp in order to preserve his health for the start of the regular season, 13-time All-Star Dirk Nowitzki is expected to make his preseason debut Friday night in front of the hometown crowd.
Looking for their first win in exhibition play after three straight losses by double digits, the Dallas Mavericks figure to get a boost from Nowitzki’s presence in the lineup. Meanwhile, Nowitzki will look to round himself into form in time for the regular-season opener in Phoenix on Oct. 28. And while welcoming in an Atlanta Hawks team that won 60 games a season ago, the Mavericks will again face a formidable foe that should help get themselves ready for the ’15-16 campaign.
