Porzingis spark Celtics' Game 1 win over Mavs

BOSTON – Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis combined for 42 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 107-89 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night at TD Garden in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

Brown scored 22 points and Porzingis – who used to play for the Mavs — added 20 points, six rebounds and three blocks off the bench after playing for the first time since straining his right calf on April 29 in Game 4 of the first round of the playoffs against the Miami Heat. Also for Boston, Jayson Tatum scored 16 points, Derrick White tallied 15 points, Jrue Holiday scored 12 points and Al Horford added 10 points.
