Despite playing without four of their key rotation players, the Dallas Mavericks went into Moda Center and totally dominated the Portland Trail Blazers and winning, 132-1117, on Monday night.
In producing their highest first-half point total of the season, the Mavs led 72-53 at intermission behind a dominant performance in the paint and some torrid shooting from three-point range. The Mavs used a 21-3 run to break loose from a 41-41 tie and bolt ahead, 62-44, after Dwight Powell scored inside the paint, and were never seriously threaten thereafter.
The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for the Mavs, who led by as many as 29 points in the fourth quarter and padded their record to 16-17 going into Wednesday night’s game in Sacramento.
