Dallas Mavericks newcomers Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington sure know how to make a grand entrance.
Acquired in two separate trades this past Thursday, Gafford and Washington combined for 33 points and 14 rebounds in 41 minutes as the Mavs overpowered the highly-touted Oklahoma City Thunder, 146-111, on Saturday afternoon at American Airlines Center. It was the fourth straight win for the Mavs, who increased their record to 30-23 going into Monday’s home game against the Washington Wizards.
Gafford finished with 19 points and nine rebounds and was 7-of-11 from the field in just 17 workmanlike minutes, while Washington collected 14 points on 6-of-10 shots, and added five boards and was 6-of-10 from the floor in 24 minutes.
