Someone once said that you only get one chance to make a first impression.
For newly-acquired forward Doug McDermott, it was a good one for the Dallas Mavericks.
McDermott had eight points, three rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes of play in the Mavericks' 130-123 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at the American Airlines Center Saturday night.
The 6-foot-8 McDermott was acquired from the New York Knicks in a three-team trade deadline deal that sent Dallas veteran guard Devin Harris to the Knicks for McDermott and a second-round pick from the Denver Nuggets, who sent former Arlington Prep standout Emmanuel Mudiay to the Knicks.
