For more than two decades now, power forward has been a non-issue for the Mavericks. They never had to think about it.
Plug Dirk Nowitzki in, play him 35 minutes, bank on his 20-plus points and 8 rebounds and move along. Until the past couple of years, that was automatic.
The time has come, however, to address the position. Even if Nowitzki is playing more center these days (and probably only for one more season), he's still the team's best scoring threat at either center or power forward.
That must change this summer.
