It would be nice and simple to say that if the Mavericks beat the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night at American Airlines Center, they will advance to the knockout round of the NBA Cup.
But like most things in life, it’s not that simple.
Things do look positive for the Mavericks going into the final night of group-stage play on Tuesday. Their margin of victory in their three previous cup games is plus-41. That makes them an overwhelming favorite to get to the knockout round if they beat the Grizzlies.
Not guaranteed. But the Mavericks would need a crazy set of circumstances to not make the next round.
