The Mavericks got confirmation Wednesday of what they already knew.
They fouled Will Barton twice in the backcourt with under 10 seconds to play and trailing by a point at Denver on Tuesday night. Neither hack was called by the referee crew of Tony Brothers, Rodney Mott and Jonathan Sterling.
By the time a wrap-up hold was called with 1.7 seconds to play on the Mavericks against Gary Harris, it was too late, and the Mavericks absorbed a 105-102 loss, ending their four-game road winning streak.
In the NBA's official Last Two Minutes report issued Wednesday afternoon, the league said that, indeed, the fouls were missed.
