NBA draft experts seem to have the same opinions on the Dallas Mavericks' lone pick in the draft: A.J. Hammons is a talented player whose motor maybe doesn't always run at 100 percent.
The following is from SportsDay's Eddie Sefko on Hammons:
Hammons is a 7-footer who averaged 15 points and 8.2 rebounds for Purdue as a senior last season. He is viewed as a splendid shot-blocker, and the Mavericks have had good luck in recent years with late draft picks who stayed in college for four seasons.
"Skilled big men aren't out there growing on trees," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said.
