Dirk Nowitzki said he no longer views himself a Most Valuable Player
In his 21st NBA season, the 40-year-old plays often as a reserve and in much less time than he did when he was the league’s MVP in 2007.
But that didn’t stop him from having an MVP-to-MVP interaction with Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs phenom quarterback and the NFL’s reigning MVP, after practice Monday.
The two played catch, shot some baskets and traded jerseys a day after Mahomes watched Dallas lose, 94-93, to the Houston Rockets from an American Airlines Center floor seat.
