Al-Farouq Aminu was one of the more intriguing signings of last summer for the Mavericks. As a minimum guy, Aminu fit Dallas’ plan for the players who could potentially fill out the roster: low risk, promise, potential. Questions were there in regards to his productivity from the perimeter, but everyone knew that Aminu would be able to hold his own as a defender and rebounder.
He saw himself on the outside of the rotation during the middle portion of the season but found himself in the thick of the rotation down the stretch of the regular season. On top of that, you could make a case that he was Dallas’ most important player in the first round against the Houston Rockets.
