McDaniels score 27 points as Timberwolves edge Mavs, 115-114

In a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves got 27 points from Jaden McDaniels en route to edging the Dallas Mavericks, 115-114, on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center.

Kyrie Irving (36 points, nine assists) and P. J. Washington (30 points, seven rebounds) led the Mavs, who also got 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks from Daniel Gafford, and 10 points from Maxi Kleber.

Besides McDaniels, Minnesota got 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists from Anthony Edwards, and 18 points and eight assists from Mike Conley. In addition, Plano native Julius Randle finished with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals, Rudy Gobert tallied 14 points and Naz Reid added 12 points.
