Well known NBA official Joey Crawford has officially retired, calling it quits after over 39 seasons due to lingering issues with his injured right knee.
Crawford, 64, actually tore the meniscus in that knee while calling a Mavericks game against the Los Angeles Clippers in January of last year but didn’t have surgery until months later in an attempt to let rehab and rest take care of the problem. He hasn’t worked a game since having that surgery in December, after making it back to work Game 4 of the NBA Finals last summer.
But his injury isn’t the focus of this edition of Throwback Thursday.
