Mavs lose to Pacers, 109-94, as Doncic sat out with lower back tightness

Domantas Sabonis scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and the Indiana Pacers rolled into American Airlines Center and defeated the Luka Doncic-less Dallas Mavericks, 109-94, on Friday night.

The loss dropped the Mavs to 23-20 on the season, while the Pacers improved to 21-23.

Doncic didn’t play due to lower back tightness. And those two players – JJ Redick and Nicolo Melli — the Mavs acquired early Friday in the trade with the New Orleans Pelicans – also didn’t play.

Redick is dealing with some right heel soreness, and Melli is not yet with the Mavs.
