Mavs launch investigation into inappropriate workplace conduct in advance of Sports Illustrated report

The Dallas Mavericks released a statement Tuesday evening stating the franchise has launched an investigation into inappropriate conduct toward women by a former "officer of the organization" in advance of a report by Sports Illustrated, which was released minutes after the statement. The team has notified the league office about the investigation into the allegations against the individual, identified as former president and CEO Terdema Ussery, who left the organization nearly three years ago, according to the statement.

Ussery did not respond to the Dallas Morning News for comment.

DALLAS - The Dallas Mavericks issue the following statement on an upcoming Sports Illustrated article:

The Dallas Mavericks have received information about behavior in our workplace that appears to have violated the organization's standards of conduct.
