DALLAS — Albeit in a loss for the Puerto Rican national team Wednesday night, guard J.J. Barea once again displayed the all-around skills that figure to make him a key contributor for the Dallas Mavericks this upcoming season.
Falling to a 78-72 defeat against an unbeaten Canadian squad, Barea and the Puerto Rican team couldn’t feed off of the hometown San Juan crowd. In the process, the win secured the Tuto Marchand Continental Cup for Mavericks big man Dwight Powell and Canada, who finished the warm-up for the FIBA Americas tournament with a 4-0 mark.
