February 26, 2021 (DALLAS, TX) – As part of the Mavs Reading Challenge presented by Whataburger, Mavs’ Dwight Powell will moderate a Mavs Reading Time-Out during the virtual African American Read-In Day hosted by Dallas ISD today, Friday, Feb. 26.
The event continues a decades-long tradition of promoting diversity in literature, while encouraging children to read and highlighting the work of African American Authors. In a pre-recorded video, Powell read ‘Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut’ by Derrick Barnes that will be played for DISD students that tune in via Zoom.
