DALLAS — After struggling to generate offense throughout the 2016-17 season, the Dallas Mavericks could place a priority on upgrading their scoring attack during June’s NBA Draft.
The Mavs ranked 30th in the league by producing just 97.9 points an outing and 29th while connecting on 44 percent from the field as a team this season. The Mavericks also connected on 35.5 percent from three-point range while taking the sixth-most attempts per game in the league, ranking 23rd with an offensive rating of 103.7. Armed with the No. 9 pick in the draft, the Mavs believe they will be able to select a player capable of sliding in and contributing right away.
