MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- To say the Mavericks' center position is in a state of flux would be an understatement.
They have a quasi-starter in Nerlens Noel who has had trouble staying on the court because of foul trouble. They have a backup in Dwight Powell who has yet to find consistency offensively. And they have another backup in Salah Mejri who, until Thursday, was not happy with a severe lack of playing time.
That the group was overmatched by Memphis' Marc Gasol on the past two nights, including Thursday's 96-91 loss, simply threw a spotlight on the situation.
