PHOENIX — Damion Lee scored on a short baseline jumper with 9.7 seconds remaining as the Phoenix Suns rallied from a 22-point second-half deficit to defeat the Dallas Mavericks, 107-105, on Wednesday night at the Footprint Center.
The victory salvaged some sort of pride for the Suns, who were drilled by the Mavs, 123-90, in the decisive Game 7 of last season’s Western Conference semifinals right here in the same arena.
The Mavs will play their home opener Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Luka Doncic tied the game at 105 when he scored, was fouled and completed the three-point play with 32.
