The Dallas Mavericks will sign Brian Scott “Scotty” Hopson to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
Hopson, a 28-year-old 6-foot-7 wing, has played the majority of his career overseas, most recently with Galatasaray S.K. in Turkey.
After playing three seasons with the University of Tennessee—where he averaged 17 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists as a junior—Hopson declared for the 2011 NBA Draft. However, the former McDonald’s All-American and First Team All-SEC player went undrafted.
He finally landed in the NBA when he was signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers in late March of 2014.
