Mavericks salvage a split in China behind their dynamic rookie not named Luka Doncic

The Mavericks' veteran point guards got them going in the second half, then a strong finishing effort from rookie Jalen Brunson closed out a 115-112 victory over Philadelphia.

The victory in Shenzhen gave the Mavericks a split of the two games in China against the Sixers after losing Saturday at Shanghai.

Brunson had a 3-pointer with 1:44 to go that put the Mavericks up 111-107. The Sixers tried to pull out a late victory, but Brunson stole an inbounds pass with 13 seconds remaining and hit a free throw after he was fouled. The Sixers missed a 3-pointer just before the final buzzer.
