There will be no shortage of love shown by the Mavericks toward free-agent center Nerlens Noel when the free-agency door swings open Friday night.
The Mavericks plan to be communicating with Noel and his agent, Happy Walters, as soon as the clock strikes 11:01 p.m., Dallas time.
While Noel will have interest from a few other teams, the Mavericks have the hammer in retaining the player who was the featured piece of their trade with Philadelphia last season that sent Justin Anderson and others to the Sixers.
As a restricted free agent, Noel can receive an offer sheet from any team, but the Mavericks have two days to match it, if they so desire.
