The Dallas Mavericks have no immediate plans to trade center Andrew Bogut but will not rule out the idea should the playoffs be out of reach, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com.
MacMahon said the Mavericks’ focus, while holding the worst record in the Western Conference at 4-15 heading into Monday, is to salvage the season. Dallas is six games out of the playoff race, but the Mavericks have dealt with the lengthy absence of Dirk Nowitzki and other key players.
MacMahon reported that while the Mavericks aren’t in a rush to ship the Australian big man they acquired this summer from the Golden State Warriors, management understands the value Bogut can give to a championship contending team.
