For the second time in 10 days, the Mavericks took the San Antonio Spurs down to the wire with a chance to spring a monster upset.
Again, they came up short.
After leading by as much as 13 points in the third quarter, the Mavericks got run down by Kawhi Leonard and Patty Mills, who engineered a Spurs' comeback for a 94-87 victory
The Mavericks had battled the Spurs all night and while they were never in control, they were certainly in position to win the game when they were up 79-74. But the Spurs scored eight consecutive points, the last of which came when Mills threw a lob pass for a ferocious dunk by Dewayne Dedmon.
