Mavericks' Kyrie Irving has successful surgery on torn ACL

Dallas Mavericks All-Star Kyrie Irving underwent successful surgery to repair his torn left ACL on Wednesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, the Mavericks announced.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Riley J. Williams, chief of sports medicine at HSS, per sources. Irving had an ACL tear only in his left knee -- with no damage to any other ligament or the meniscus, sources said.

Irving, 33, sustained the injury late in the first quarter of the Mavericks' 122-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings on March 3.
