J.J. Barea, already nominated for the community-assist award presented annually by the Pro Basketball Writers Association, now has also been named one of the 10 finalists for the NBA Cares Community Assist Award that will be presented on June 25 as part of the 2018 NBA Awards Show.
Barea has spent countless hours to raise funds and donate needed provisions to his hurricane-ravaged homeland of Puerto Rico.
