The Dallas Mavericks drafted Jalen Brunson in the second round in 2018. They could not believe their luck. The Mavs thought he was going to be selected in the first round. He was coming off leading Villanova to two NCAA Championships in three seasons.
Brunson is a winner. He continues to produce in the NBA. The 23-year-old took over as the backup point guard this season. He filled in admirably when Luka Doncic has missed time too.
Brunson’s season came to an abrupt end on Feb. 22. He drew the start with Luka nursing an injury.
