With the deficit they were facing against Golden State impossible to overcome, frustration set in for the Mavericks on Tuesday night at Chase Center.
About three minutes into the fourth quarter, Kristaps Porzingis showed off his soccer skills by punting the basketball into the stands. It wasn’t a gesture against the referees. More like a boiling point because of the way Porzingis and basically all of the Mavericks played.
While Porzingis apologized to the fans on his way to the locker room, it didn’t help the Mavericks’ situation as the strange, inexplicable dominance they have had over Golden State recently vanished.
