BOSTON -- Dirk Nowitzki, with a crowd of reporters around him, doesn't easily fall for fads or trends.
But he sees what's going on with Luka Doncic and he's all in. When the Mavericks rookie was No. 2 in early returns of All-Star voting among frontcourt Western Conference players, Nowitzki was impressed, but not astonished.
"It's Luka-mania. It's real," Nowitzki said. "He definitely deserves to be up there. I'm not sure in front of KD and all these guys. But he's been tremendously efficient and consistent for us."
Indeed, the voting no doubt will change a lot before fan balloting ends Jan.
