LOS ANGELES -- It was a crazy night for Luka Doncic, one that started with him occasionally guarding the man he admitted was "my idol," LeBron James.
It got a little weirder after the Mavericks' heartbreaking 114-113 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers as 19-year-old rookie, Doncic, was still in his uniform and waiting outside the home team's locker room.
He was waiting for James' signed game jersey.
"I just wanted his jersey," Doncic said. "I asked him for the jersey in the game."'
James signed the jersey to "Luka D" with the message "Continue to #StriveForGreatness".
