Dec. 15 is a big day on the NBA calendar.
Not because it signifies any deadline for players' salaries to be guaranteed. Nor is it a trade deadline of any sort.
What happens on that day is that NBA teams can aggregate contracts of players they acquired in the summer for the purposes of trading them.
Don't expect a landslide of deals to suddenly appear.
However, the season of speculation officially begins next week and will ramp up in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline in late February.
Mark Cuban is aware that, if the Mavericks' record doesn't show marked improvement between now and February, a few players on his roster will be in demand by teams that have serious playoff and/or championship aspirations.
