Mark Followill, the TV play-by-play announcer for the Mavericks, FC Dallas and college football, has a renewed passion for running since recovering from an overuse injury two years ago.
Followill, 45, typically runs four days a week, averaging 15 to 18 miles. He placed third in his age group at last week's BWM Dallas Marathon Kickoff Party & 5K at Winfrey Point in 21 minutes, 32 seconds.
He started running after his first season with the Mavericks. He consistently ran for 10 years until a hamstring injury sidelined him for a couple of years.
Active Release Therapy treatments helped resolve the issue, enabling him to complete the 2014 Dallas Marathon Half as the Cotton Patch Café's Last Man Running.
