NEW ORLEANS - With coach Rick Carlisle making good on the promise that he wanted to give Jarrod Uthoff a chance to show his skills, the rookie celebrated Wednesday night with his first NBA points.
For Uthoff, it was a wonderful day, which started with him signing a contract for the rest of this season, which includes a team option for next year. His second 10-day contract having expired, he signed his new deal after the morning film session at the team hotel.
"I don't know if it was a stress-out (thing)," Uthoff said of wondering whether he would be retained beyond his 10-day deals.
