Irving and Shaq’s OGs took home the All-Star game trophy

SAN FRANCISCO – Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving walked into the postgame interview room proudly clutching the NBA All-Star game championship trophy Sunday night at Chase Center.

No, Irving didn’t win the game’s Most Valuable Player award. That honor went to Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry after Shaq’s OGs defeated Chuck’s Global Stars, 41-25.

However, Irving was just as happy to have the championship game trophy in his hands as he was back in 2011 when he actually captured the All-Star game MVP trophy.

“This is the first time I’m taking some hardware home other than winning the All-Star game MVP,” said Irving, who finished with seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in eight minutes.
