The Mavericks will get back to work Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, where they are reconvening after the All-Star break for a couple of practice days before playing the Lakers on Friday.
The remaining 24 games aren’t exactly brimming with drama. The Mavericks, as owner Mark Cuban has made very clear (what, the eye test wasn’t a dead giveaway?), are in full-blown lottery mode. Wins will be hard to come by the rest of the way.
That doesn’t mean the players don’t have a lot at stake. Future contracts and future playing time are just two of the incentives.
