How adapting to the modern NBA has been the key to Harrison Barnes' success with the Mavericks

Over the last 11 games, Harrison Barnes has averaged 20.2 points and shot 43.5 percent from 3-point range.

Both of those numbers are significant.

If he continues on a 20-point pace, he will pass rookie Luka Doncic for the team scoring lead in the next couple of games.

Maybe that was predictable - and it won’t do anything to slow down Luka Mania. What it means mostly is that the Mavericks have way more weapons than they’ve had in the last couple of seasons.

The second number, his 3-point accuracy, is what has the Mavericks excited about where this season is headed and has opponents very concerned about dealing with Barnes going forward.
