The investigation into the Mavericks' front-office scandal remains in idle, awaiting input and possible sanctions from the NBA, as well as ensuring that details in the investigators' report are double-checked, sources said Monday.
The hope is that the results can be made public next week. The Mavericks and the league would like to have the investigation results finalized before Labor Day. After that, preparations for training camp on Sept. 20 will ramp up. But there is no firm timetable.
Punishment from the NBA is likely, although in the last six months, the Mavericks have worked feverishly under new CEO Cynt Marshall to make changes not only to the culture in the front office, but many high-ranking positions.
